FarmIQ Systems Limited (“FarmIQ”, “Farmax”, “Grow”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals and ensuring that personal information (any information that could be used to personally identify you) is handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. 

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal information across our digital platforms, including our website, applications, mobile tools, and APIs.

• Farm information: property details, land use data, animal details, environmental metrics, and production records  

• User interaction data: login times, usage analytics, device type, and IP address

2. Why we collect personal information 

We collect and use personal information to: 

• Deliver and improve FarmIQ and Farmax products and services  

• Personalise your user experience and recommendations  

• Provide customer support and training  

• Administer subscriptions and user accounts  

• Share data with our integration partners, such as processing companies and animal management solutions, with your authorisation

3. How we collect information 

We collect information: 

• Directly from users when they register, complete forms, or upload farm data  

• Automatically when users interact with our platform  

• From third parties, where you have authorised access or integration  

4. How we use and share your information 

We may share your information: 

• With authorised integration partners, where you have opted in to the integration  

• With service providers, such as cloud hosting, analytics, or customer support tools, under strict confidentiality  

• If legally required to do so  

• Internally, across our team and systems for product and business operations  

We will never sell your personal information. 

5. Data storage and security 

We take the security of your data seriously. Our systems include: 

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest  

• Access controls and role-based authorisations  

• Regular audits, backups, and monitoring  

• Secure third-party cloud services that are compliant with NZ privacy law  

6. Location information 

With your permission, Grow collects precise location information from your mobile device to support the Measuring Tool feature. This feature enables users to measure long distances across farm properties, including paddock boundaries, break fences, tracks, and other farm infrastructure. 

Because measurements may continue over extended distances and periods of time, Grow may access location information while the app is open and in use, and in some cases while the app is running in the background or the device screen is turned off. Background location access is required to ensure measurement accuracy and continuity during active measuring activities. 

Location information collected through the Measuring Tool is used solely to provide, maintain, and improve this functionality and is not used for unrelated tracking or marketing purposes. 

You can manage or withdraw location permissions for Grow at any time through your device settings. Please note that disabling location access may limit or prevent the use of certain app features, including the Measuring Tool. 

7. Cookies 

We use small data files called “cookies” to help improve your experience on our products. Cookies are stored on your device and are used to run and personalise our products, remember your preferences, improve our services, and provide certain features. 

You can block cookies in your browser settings, but this may limit some functions of our products. 

8. Your rights and choices 

You have the right to: 

• Access your personal information held by FarmIQ  

• Request correction of inaccurate information  

• Request deletion of your personal data (subject to any legal or contractual obligations to keep your data for a specified period)

9. Data breaches 

If we experience a privacy breach that poses a risk of serious harm, we will: 

• Notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as soon as practicable
